What do we offer?
We are committed to helping residents do everything in their power to make their neighborhood a place in which they can take pride. Here’s how we do it:
We support the Covington Neighborhood Collaborative on citywide initiatives, including seasonal Neighborhood Tours, an annual Neighborhood Summit where The Center staff and resident leaders provide leadership training to residents, and educating residents about how to partner with local government
We provide staff assistance to over 30 resident-led associations to help them build their organizations, increase skills, connect to resources, and meet goals
We partner with the Covington Police Department to improve community safety in support of neighborhood revitalization and economic vitality
We help coordinate community building events such as block parties, festivals, and parades
Why does it matter?
We believe that resident leadership is at the core of a healthy neighborhood. Involved neighbors help build connections to the life of the city, and this connectedness creates a feeling of welcome in the community places that feel like home even if you don’t live there.
