    Our Services
The Center for Great Neighborhoods equips residents with the training and resources they need to improve their neighborhoods.
Each community is unique, so the needs and goals of each are different. It’s ultimately up to the residents to define what they want to achieve. It’s our job to help them get there.
Our talented staff assists residents to create a vision for their neighborhood, develop a plan and work together to implement it. We provide technical assistance in the areas of leadership training, planning, research, project development and implementation.
Residents learn how to connect with other neighbors, build effective grassroots civic groups and partner with businesses and institutions who share common goals to solve real problems in their neighborhood. Our training program is distinctive as we help residents develop vital leadership skills, not in an isolated class, but in the context of working on real, important issues in their community. They will learn valuable skills and, most importantly, get results!
The results of this work may include:
- New or renovated housing
- Parks and greenspace
- Crime prevention
- Improved public schools
- Youth initiatives
- Public art
- Social and cultural events
- Revitalized business districts
- Coordinated services
The most important results of the process, however, are committed resident leaders and strong civic associations. This assures that community development efforts will be sustained and continued.
